Cinderella was a beautiful young girl, who lived with her fahter. But when her father tragically died she had to live with her stepmother, a wicked and evil woman, and her two stepsisters, who were just as bad as their mother. She was made cook, clean, and do other various jobs around the house. She had no friends, but used to talk to the mice that lived in the kitchen. One day an invitation arrived from the castle inviting everyone in the kingdom to a ball where, hopefully, the prince would meet a wife; but unfortunately cinderella's stepmother wouldn't let her go and hid her away.
But, that night as Cinderella was working, her fairy godmother appeared to her. She gave her a dress and a pair of glass slippers to wear to the ball, and even supplied her with a carriage. There was one condition: Cinderella had to return by midnight, otherwise the magic would wear off and she would return to wearing rags. Cinderella agreed and set off for the ball, eager to meet the prince.
Cinderella did meet the Prince, and she spent the whole night dancing with him. She was enjoying herself so much that she didn't realise the time slipping by and before she knew it it was a minute to twelve! She rushed out of the castle and into a carriage but made it home only to realise she had left her shoe in the castle grounds.When her family returned they had no idea what she had been up to, or that she had left the house at all.
The next morning there was a knock at the door, it was a servant of the castle, he had been sent to find the woman who the Prince had fallen in love with. She had leeft her shoe behind, and he was under orders to get every woman in the Kingdom to try on the slipper which she had forgotten as she fled the castle.
The stepsisters both tried on the shoe, but they couldn't squash their big feet into such a dainty little shoe. Cinderella's mother tried to stop the servant from letting Cinderella try on the shoe, but he insisted that he did, and, much to her sisters horror, the shoe did fit Cinderella! She was immediately taken to the castle, to arrange her marriage to the Prince!!!
